Hi, I’m Micheala.

My weapon of choice is oil paints to create my pieces. I paint simply for the joy it brings to my being and the fact I get to add a little color to this otherwise relatively dark world. I paint with no “target audience” in mind. My brain deeply appreciates the freedom to paint and create whatever I want without catering to a specific eye. But, hey, if you see something you like? I’m over the moon!

I am inspired by anything and everything. I could look at a rock and create a concept around it. I truly love challenging myself with intricate details, and I hold the utmost love for still-life projects and portraits. That being said, please do not ask me to do landscapes. (Truth be told, I cannot paint a tree.)

I have loved art since I could hold a pencil. I grew up drawing all the time. In high school, I got introduced to acrylic paints and decided painting was for me. In college, I took a painting course where I was introduced to oils; that is when I fell head over heels and actually changed my degree entirely from a BBM to BFA. Alas, COVID hit and I ended up dropping out. Never finished. Insert heartbroken emoji.

All I want from this wonderful life I was given is to create and maybe inspire a little, bring joy here and there. Everyone gets so caught up in eat-sleep-work, we forget to slow down and enjoy what sets our souls on fire. I refuse to do that. Not to sound so cliche, but Picasso is right: “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."
